A French national was sentenced to seven years in prison the 18th of October 2011 by the Preah Sihanouk provincial court after being found guilty of having sexual intercourse with a minor. Juan 0rdoñez Camacho, 50, was arrested in January this year at a guesthouse by anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection police in Preah Sihanouk and initially charged with purchasing child prostitution and having intercourse with a minor. The prostitution charge was dropped yesterday by the court, said APLE country director Seila Samleang. "He [Camacho] was ordered to leave the country after he gets out of prison", he said.
The victim's attorney Noun Phanith sought US$10,000 compensation for her client, however none was awarded. |
